[ !!! Juniper would have been happy to help her friend V regardless, but her pride and determination just swell when he calls her an intrepid adventurer, because he's right! She is an intrepid adventurer all on her own! An intrepid adventurer here to... fix household plumbing! ]
...Water you doing? Heh!
[ She's chortling fully as she steps into the bathroom in earnest, kneeling down beside him. ]
Poor Dodo... It's really been struggling lately, huh?
[And not getting much of anywhere, if the water still pooling at the bottom is any indication.]
Badly. I understand that I'm not the most... equipped to deal with house repairs, but it's a little frustrating, watching everything fall apart and seeing everyone else set to work. While I can do nothing.
[The wrench in his hand gets a little twirl, and he smiles at her.]
I thought mending a leaking faucet was simple enough, but I can't even turn the thing tightly enough to make a difference. But you...
[ Juniper frowns as she listens to V. That does sound frustrating! She can see why he would have wanted to find something that he can take on and accomplish. Though when he then turns his attention to her... ]
But me...? [ Slow blink... ] Oh! My strength!?
[ She is stronk! But she also doesn't like the idea of taking this away from V entirely... ]
You know, my guardians always say "dream work makes the team work!" [ nailed it ] What if we hold onto the wrench and turn it together!?
[And certainly not his! Look at these noodle arms.
Ah, but even as the thought flits through his mind, she suggests working together, anyway. He wonders if it's because she still wants to leave him with some sense of accomplishment, and he thinks... that's kind of her, really.]
We could try that, though you think we could squeeze the both of us under the sink to turn it?
All right then. What's the worst that could happen?
[A perfect arrangement of words to be etched onto a headstone.
So, V leans forward again, sticking his head beneath the sink, his gangly arms reaching out and grasping at the wrench with both hands. He slots it in place where it appears two pieces of pipe are connected, leaking a trail of water.]
Can you reach in and grab it, too? And then on the count of three, we'll try to turn it counter-clockwise.
[ What's the worst that could happen? Yeah! Who knows? Juniper sure doesn't. ]
Aye, aye, V!
[ With a firm nod of her head, she squeezes in beside him and beneath the sink, reaching over with one hand to find purchase on whatever real estate remains on the wrench's handle. ]
Are you ready? One, two, three - Turn!
[ Grip tightening, she turns with all of her might!! Which is possibly too much might!! ]
But at first, it seems almost perfect. Let's be real, Juni is doing the lion's share of the work here, but V turns as hard as his noodly little arms will allow.
And the wrench twists tighter the washers, farther than V could ever hope to accomplish on his own. The leaking stops!]
[ Maybe he should have, because that's definitely not something Juni would have ever thought to do...
But splash! There goes the water, spraying like a great mountain geyser in the landscape of... this bathroom. ]
EEYEAH!
[ Shrieked like a true anime girl. But Juniper ✨heroically✨ positions herself in front of V to try and take the brunt of the water - which doesn't really do much, since it truly is going everywhere and spilling, pooling on the floor. ]
V, we're being attacked!! [ attacked!? ] W-What do we do!?
[This was a mistake, clearly. As V tries to hold his forearm up to block the incoming water spray, Juni bravely rushes forward to position herself before him, taking the brunt of the blast despite her anime-girl screech.
But no, it doesn't make too much of a difference. The water's already spilling out, and he's catching the tail-end of those sprays. Since they're crouched down to deal with this, their legs and feet are already beginning to soak through.]
We... ah...
[It's hard to think when DISASTER STRIKES in the form of a pipe bursting. It feels like they have to act quickly, or the whole bathroom will flood.
V straightens and grabs his cane, wobbling to a stand. He says very seriously:]
[ Juniper stares at V in disbelief. Is he... suggesting that they run away from the scene of the crime!? A hit-and-run!?! Wouldn't the right thing to do be to own up to their mistake and get help...?
She looks at the geyser of a leaky pipe that they created. And then to V. And then back at the pipe. ]
I-I can find help... later! I'm sorry, Dodo House!
[ With his blessing, she's going to just pick V's twinky ass up in a princess carry. ]
[She's a better soul than he, who would have just left this flooding business to the next sorry person who stumbled into this bathroom.
But whoop, there he goes, lifted up into a princess carry. The way he doesn't seem to fight it, at least, implies that she retroactively has his permission.]
As they say: it's the thought that counts. We've just given someone a... proper challenge.

If it's not obvious, I'm trying to fix a leak.

[It might be awkward, but...
When has that stopped either of them.]
no subject
[ Because - yeah, when has that stopped either of them! Never! Surely nothing can go wrong.
She wiggles a bit to properly face the pipes beneath the sink and gestures at it. ]
Come on, let's work together!
